Sports Day

Sports Activities in Carmel College of Engineering Alappuzha Academic learning and sports complement each other. Sports and academic learning if carried out together increases the potential and eventually shapes the personality of a student. Education is merely a way to gather knowledge and improve ‘academic’ skills, whereas from sports a student can get the qualities of leadership, sharing, tolerance, and team-spirit. In today’s world, both are equally important and are indeed the two sides of the same coin.

As per Mahatma Gandhi’s vision the true education meant harmonious development of three organs of man via; body, mind and soul. To enhance this vision and to increase the students’ perspectives, this Campus has adequate sports facilities. A number of inter and intra college sports events are organized throughout the year to enable the students to develop a spirit of healthy competition and team effort. The Campus has adequate sports infrastructure for Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Football, shuttle and Table Tennis and several other indoor and outdoor games.

SELF LEARNING AT CCET

CCET provides ample opportunity motivation to our students to study themselves. The college has an active NPTEL local chapter with LC ID:2182 from 2018. NPTEL has been offering self-study courses across engineering, humanities, and science streams for more than a decade. These are available at: http://nptel.ac.in. Since March 2014 NPTEL has been offering online certification for its courses, the highlight being the certification exam through which the student gets an opportunity to earn a certificate from the IITs! These are available at: https://swayam.gov.in/NPTEL.

The college maintains a dedicated server with the NPTEL video repository so that our students can access the NPTEL recorded videos any time anywhere. NPTEL local chapter of the college conducts motivation and orientation classes for the students to make enroll in the course. Every semester, more than 100 students are registering NPTEL course and more than 70% of them are getting certificates.

There is a single point of contact (SPOC) from the college, who will be managing all the problems with course registrations, fee concessions, and examination enrolment. Our SPOC, Er. Anoop R.S. was awarded the Active SPOC by NPTEL last year.
