Central Library

CCET Central Library is housed as a separate block in the campus and has a vast collection of resources that cater the diverse academic and research needs of its patrons. Our collection is selected and compiled to ensure students and faculty members have access to the best and most relevant materials in their respective fields. Our library extends opportunities for teaching, learning and self-education to the deserving and enthusiastic students without any distinction and to develop in each student a sense of responsibility.

Rules & Regulations

The open access system is followed in the Library. 

  1. A Library user shall enter his/her name, branch and in/out time of entry/exit should put a signature in the register kept at the entrance / read  your ID Card  in IN/OUT Management system
  2. Smoking, eating, sleeping and talking loudly are strictly prohibited in the Library. 
  3. Members must carry their ID card while using the Library. It must show on demand of library staff. 
  4. Documents taken out of the shelves must be left on the table. Replacing the documents on shelves by users are not encouraged as the documents may get misplaced. 
  5. Readers should not mark, underline, write, or tear pages or otherwise damage the library documents. 
  6. Readers are requested to handle all Library property carefully to avoid damage to it and also not to disturb other readers/users. 
  7. Students can avail 5 books for 15 days loan period and 10 books for teaching faculty for a period of one semester and 3 books for admin. Staff for a period of one month. They must be returned on or before the last date stamped on the due date-slip. 
  8. The borrower should check the physical status of the document before getting it issued. Any discrepancy should be brought to the notice of the Librarian before issuing. The borrower will be held responsible for any defect/damage found at the time of return of the document, if not recorded on it earlier, and will be liable to pay the penalty. 
  9. Any document issued may be recalled by the Librarian before the due date of return without assigning any reason and the borrower has to abide by the decision. 
  10. Fine will be charged for late returning of Books 
  11. Reference books, journals / periodicals, magazines/newspapers, CD-ROM databases and other documents declared “For Reference” will not be issued. 
  12. A borrower is responsible for the safe custody and return of the documents borrowed from the Library. 
  13. No Library material can be taken out of the Library without prior permission of the Librarian. 
  14. The Internet Facility in the library is to be used for academic purposes only. 
  15. The Library membership may be  suspended / cancelled for any inordinate /unwarranted / illegal behavior of a member.
  16. Suggestions on all aspects of library services are welcome. 

Digital Library

Digital Library is located inside the Library Block. Students can make use of the Digital Library to read online journals and other digital contents provided by the central Library.

  • Library Management Software: Koha – used to monitor and log student activity, track book availability, and manage library resources effectively
  •  Barcode Scanning System: Student Name Tags equipped with barcodes to monitor which books students have borrowed and have accessed the library
  • 30 High-End Systems: Available for in-depth research, internet browsing, and accessing online resources for academic purposes
  •  Research Database Access: A vast collection of online journals, academic papers, e-books, and research databases for comprehensive academic research
  • Centralized Monitoring: Allows library staff to track the usage of resources, monitor student activities, and ensure that all library guidelines are followed
  • Digital Content: Access to a variety of multimedia learning resources, including online lectures, educational videos, and interactive content
  • High-Speed Internet Connectivity: Facilitates uninterrupted access to digital resources for research and learning
  • User Access Logs: Detailed logs of student activities, including books borrowed, resources accessed, and time spent in the library

Remote Access

It was initially supported by the National Information System for Science and Technology (NISSAT), Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India. It was subsequently supported by the National Informatics Centre, Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Government of India and the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

J-Gate functions as an electronic gateway access to a vast array of e-journal content worldwide. Initially introduced in 2001 by Informatics India. It provides means of access to global literature in scholarly and research journals. Accessing full-text of about 1,000+ free journals available online. J-Gate links to full-text of more than 100,000 currently published articles since 2001, which are freely available.

Knimbus e-library is a cloud based digital library platform that provides seamless access to a wide range of e- resources subscribed by Carmel College of Engineering & Technology (CCET). It enables off-campus accessibility, allowing users to remotely explore academic and research materials anytime anywhere and Mobile access via Knimbus mLibrary App.

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). To facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning), is a joint venture of the IITs and IISc, funded by the Ministry of Education (Moe) Government of India, and was launched in 2003. Initially started as a project to take quality education to all corners of the country, NPTEL now offers close to 600+ courses for certification every semester in about 22 disciplines.
